Hendrik Gheerardyn is a Belgian realist painter from Bruges.
Based on careful observation of light and shadow he captures the beauty of nature in a classical realistic style. His paintings emanate tranquillity through a harmonious composition and subtle variations in tonal values. The works have been painted from life using traditional materials and techniques, in oils on linnen or wood.
